Morning pickup from Haridwar or Rishikesh. Drive through the scenic Ganga and Alaknanda valleys, passing the sacred Devprayag Sangam and Rudraprayag. Arrive at the picturesque village of Sari (6,500 ft). Embark on a gentle 2.5 km paved nature trek through dense rhododendron and oak forests to pristine Deoria Tal. Marvel at the stunning reflection of Chaukhamba peaks in the emerald lake waters. Return to camp/guesthouse for delicious dinner and rest.
Early morning scenic drive to Chopta basecamp (8,790 ft). Start the exhilarating paved stone trek (3.5 km) to the revered Tungnath Mahadev Temple (12,073 ft), the highest Shiva shrine in the world and third of the sacred Panch Kedar. Seek blessings inside the ancient stone sanctum. Adventurous travelers can continue 1.5 km uphill to Chandrashila Peak (13,100 ft) for an awe-inspiring 360-degree panoramic vista of Greater Himalayas including Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedar Dome, and Bandarpoonch. Trek back to Chopta for a warming bonfire and starlit dinner.
